The Gentle Years

The young female protagonist stays with her grandmother in the countryside. She is overjoyed to learn that her parents, who went to the city to make money, are coming back. However, she is targeted by traffickers. Her grandmother sacrifices her life to protect her, leaving her injured and deaf in one ear. She is taken away with her parents' jade pendant. Her parents return to the village to adopt a child, only to learn of her grandmother's death and her abduction. They send someone to chase down the traffickers. The traffickers, fearing for her safety, abandon her, and she is adopted by her grandfather. As she grows up, she gets into the best university and ends up in the same class as her younger brother. On a holiday, she returns home to take care of her grandfather, where her mother takes her brother to the countryside for rural revitalization. Her brother teases her, and when her grandfather appears, he tries to tease the deaf grandfather again, but her mother stops him and takes him away. Her brother makes her grandfather make bamboo baskets while her mother distributes supplies. He uses this opportunity to humiliate her and her grandfather, but she slaps him. Enraged, he tries to undress her, but her mother appears, and they almost recognize each other. Her brother finds the jade pendant, realizes she is his sister, but throws it away. It is picked up by Mo Xiaoyun. Her brother makes her do tutoring, and Mo Xiaoyun uses this to hook up with him and become a servant in the Gu family, even pushing her into the water to bully her, causing the pendant to fall. During their time together, her mother realizes she is her daughter and regrets not recognizing her earlier.
